Vladimir Berkovich, MD
Dr. Vladimir Berkovich has been practicing medicine since 1998. He is licensed in the State of New Jersey and New York. Dr. Berkovich is also received his certification as a Nutrition Specialist from the American College of Nutrition in 2002 and a Board certification in Family Medicine 1998. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Berkovich is also a decorated officer in the US Army Reserves, having served his country on active duty In Iraq and Afghanistan as well as other tours of duty, including his most recent tour as Deputy Commander of Clinical Services of Combat Support Hospital in 2013.
Dr. Berkovich grew up in Moscow, Russia where he was educated as a musician. In 1981, he emigrated to the US. Vladimir Berkovich completed his undergraduate studies at State University of New York at Stony Brook. He received his Doctoral degrees from Ross University School of Medicine with honors and New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Berkovich completed his residency in Family Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Prior to joining Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, Dr. Berkovich was a principal at the Center for Aesthetic and Integrative Medicine in Manasquan, NJ. Dr. Berkovich is an ardent advocate of the integrated approach to health. His eclectic method of treatment is sought after by his loyal patients. He lives in Ocean County, NJ with his wife and is the proud father of two sons. His hobby is exploring nature.
John A. Ricci, MD
Dr. John Ricci has been practicing family medicine since 1999. He is licensed in the State of New Jersey, specializing in musculoskeletal injections, sleep disorders and hormone imbalances for men and women. His practice also includes minimally invasive aesthetics as well.
Dr. Ricci grew up in Lakewood, NJ, completing his undergraduate work at Rutgers University, medical school at Ross University, and residencies at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken, NJ and in Family Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in New Brunswick, NJ. He has been a speaker, radio show host and author on a multitude of subjects, most notably hypogonadism and male and female hormone imbalances.
Prior to joining Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, Dr. Ricci was a principal at the Center for Aesthetic and Integrative Medicine in Manasquan, NJ. Dr. Ricci is a passionate advocate of the multi-disciplinary, wellness approach to medicine. He lives in Lincroft, NJ with his extended family.
Martin E. Manzo, DC, CCSP
Dr. Martin E. Manzo has been practicing chiropractic on the Jersey shore since 1987. He is trained in Active Release Techniques®, Injury Prevention (including Back Safe® & Sitting Safe®), as well as Manipulation Under Anesthesia. Having successfully been accredited in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Dr. Manzo is now licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey. Dr. Manzo also has surgical center credentialing and was Team Chiropractor for the Monmouth University Hockey Team from 1997-2000. He has continued his education by attending and successfully passing the examination as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). Dr. Manzo is a founding member of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors, which successfully united seven distinct chiropractic groups and has become a major leader in setting chiropractic policy for the state.
Dr. Manzo grew up right here in Point Pleasant Beach, attended Bloomfield College and graduated from New York Chiropractic College. Prior to being one of the owners of Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, as well as its CEO, Dr. Manzo owned Premier Care Center, LLC in Manasquan, NJ and practiced in Brick and Manasquan. He is deeply invested in his patients care and well-being, and has realized his vision of being part of a multi-disciplinary practice with skilled and trusted colleagues, all with a singular passion for their patient’s optimal health. Outside of AMW, he is profoundly committed to his community, a passion he shares with his wonderful extended family and friends.
Shannon Rittberg, DO
A native of Manalapan, NJ and with over ten years of experience in family medicine, Dr. Shannon Rittberg has unsurprisingly gained a loyal following of patients seeking her expert care and treatment. Licensed in the state of New Jersey and board certified to practice family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine, she has a highly energetic approach to health and wellness, resulting in unbeatable patient care.
After earning her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University with cum laude distinction, Dr. Rittberg attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. During her residency through UMDNJ, she served as Assistant Chief Resident at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. Dr. Rittberg has since been practicing and serving the Jersey Shore community, leading her to Atlantic Medicine & Wellness.
Throughout her time in the medical profession, Dr. Rittberg has earned a number of honors and awards, including the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation and the Achievement in Primary Care Award. She has also been active in her local community, serving as an elementary school physician, taking on a mentorship role at the National Youth Leadership Forum, and acting as the team physician for the Camden Riversharks. She currently resides in Freehold Township with her husband and two daughters. When she isn’t offering patients the best in family medicine, she enjoys coaching her daughters’ soccer teams.
Dr. Edward J. Champey, MD
Dr. Edward J. Champey MD, is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist, specializing in Pain Management. He treats a variety of conditions including patients who suffer from acute or chronic back and neck pain secondary to herniated disks, pinched nerves, and sciatica.
Dr.Champey received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Saba University. After graduating from medical school, he completed his internship in general surgery at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Dr. Champey then earned his degree in anesthesia from UMDNJ in Newark, NJ..
Dr. Champey personally performs all Pain Management procedures at Mine Hill Surgical Center, located in Mine Hill, NJ. Dr. Champey has extensive experience in the OR, having performed thousands of epidurals and facet block injections over the past several years. He will fully review your condition, examine you, and recommend the most appropriate treatment intervention. This may or may not include medical intervention, depending on the nature of your condition.
David Koentop, DC, DACNB, MSHS, CCEP
A Toms River native, Dr. David Koentop is a board certified Chiropractic Functional Neurologist, specializing in neurological disorders and sports rehabilitation. Throughout his profession as a Chiropractic Functional Neurologist, he has worked with a range of neurological complications, successfully treating patients experiencing dystonia, post-stroke recovery, vestibular disorders, cerebellar problems, hemispheric brain lesions, and other medical conditions.
Dr. Koentop earned his Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Life University with Summa Cum Laude distinction in 2013. In 2014 he went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Sports Health Science, with an emphasis in Sports Chiropractic, also from Life University. In becoming a chiropractic neurologist, Dr. Koentop first became a licensed chiropractor, completed 1,000 post-graduate hours of neurological study, course work, and residency-based clinical training, and passed a comprehensive certification examination administered by the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. Throughout this time, he worked with patients recovering from movement disorders, concussions, vestibular and mild traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, Chemo brain, and dyslexia.
Prior to joining the Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, Dr. Koentop worked as a team chiropractor in the athletic departments of both Life University and NCAA Division 1 Kennesaw State University. As a team chiropractor, he treated athletes across the spectrum of sports activities.
When Dr. Koentop isn’t treating patients with comprehensive chiropractic neurology, he is an avid hockey fan and player. Holding a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Aikido, and Jujitsu, he is also an avid and accomplished martial arts enthusiast. Additionally, he holds second-degree black sashes in four Chinese Kung Fu styles, including Northern Shao Lin, Ba Gua, Hsing Yi, and Guang Ping Yang Tai Chi.
Peter Aloi, DC, MS
Dr. Peter Aloi is a board certified Chiropractic Physician who dedicates himself to treating his patients’ symptoms and physical dysfunctions, running the gamut from professional athletes, to weekend warriors, to student athletes of all ages, and, of course, non-athletes alike. Dr. Aloi is certified in Active Release Technique® (A.R.T.); Biomechanics; Chiropractic Management of Golf Injuries; and KT Kinesio® Taping, all of which are the leading soft-tissue diagnostic and treatment protocols that deal with over-use strain/sprain injuries. A.R.T. is a non-invasive technique that been shown to be extremely effective in treating injuries relating to muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. The A.R.T. Biomechanics Certification allows Dr. Aloi to evaluate patients’ running and walking gait for any biomechanical deficiencies that could lead to altered performance or injury.
Dr. Aloi received his B.S. from Seton Hall University, majoring in Marketing, and his Chiropractic degree at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY, where he specialized in Motion Palpation, biomechanics and functional rehabilitation. Since graduating from Chiropractic school, Dr. Aloi went on to the University Of Bridgeport in Connecticut, where he received a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition.
Prior to joining Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, Dr. Aloi has been serving the Monmouth County community, practicing in Freehold, Wall and Manasquan since 2004.
In addition to his Chiropractic practice, Dr. Aloi is also a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Golf Medical Practioner (Level 2). This certification has trained him to evaluate and prescribe golf specific fitness programs designed for all levels of golfers for performance enhancement and injury prevention. The combination of Chiropractic, A.R.T. and TPI training has allowed Dr. Aloi the opportunity to travel with the PGA and Champions tours as a treatment specialist for a select group of professional golfers.
Joanna Suchcicka, PT, DPT
Joanna Suchcicka graduated with Honors from State University of New York at Stony Brook earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2003. She also holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare management from Monmouth University, and an undergraduate degree in Biology from Rutgers University. As a child she grew up in Warsaw, Poland and is fluent in both English and Polish.
Over the last decade, Dr. Suchcicka continued to expand her knowledge through numerous continuing education hours and training seminars. She offers years of experience in the treatment of a wide range of orthopedic, sport injuries, post-surgical and neurological conditions with an emphasis on individualized treatment plans, hands-on techniques and evidence based practice.
Her treatment philosophy is rooted in identifying the main cause of a dysfunction, as a way of improving treatment outcomes and preventing re-injury. She devotes much time to patient education, as she passionately believes that an educated patient will become an empowered and a healthier patient. In her spare time you’ll find her practicing yoga, hiking, reading and traveling.
Kingsley Y. Fong, L.Ac. Dipl. Ac.
Kingsley Fong is board certified in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He has experience in treating musculoskeletal pain, sleep disturbance, digestive issues and allergies.
Kingsley grew up in Tinton Falls, New Jersey and completed his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Rutgers University in New Jersey. He studied Acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York, where he graduated with a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture.
Kingsley has studied Taekwondo, Kenpo, and Muaythai for over 10 years. As a former martial arts instructor, Kingsley became interested in the healing properties of the internal martial arts and acupuncture. Now he practices taiqi and qigong on a daily basis in conjunction with acupuncture. Before joining the team at Atlantic Medicine and Wellness, Kingsley practiced extensively for various clinics specializing in the care and treatment of car accident victims with acupuncture.
Tracey E. Capell, MS, CNS
Tracey Capell is a board certified clinical nutritionist offering clinical support to both children and adults. Tracey earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Communications from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. She is a Certified Nutrition Specialist through the American College of Nutrition and has been in private practice since 2001, working alongside physicians and therapists in a complementary manner to help her patients achieve optimal health. She is also a member of the American College of Nutrition and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Tracey uses diagnostic testing as part of her investigative program to design personalized programs for her patients, identifying and correcting underlying imbalances. Through her understanding of biochemistry and the latest research in nutritional therapies, Tracey offers her patients effective, natural treatment options, like lifestyle modifications, dietary recommendations and nutritional support, customized for each individual. The Healthy Weigh is a program developed by Tracey specifically for weight loss and diabetes management. This program employs the most advanced scientific principles of human metabolism and is designed to be a permanent way of life for long term success.
Tracey resides in Freehold Township where she enjoys growing her own vegetables and flowers. She keeps very busy traveling to medical conference around the country and researching the most effective alternative treatment options for a multitude of conditions.
Jennifer C. McCarron, MS, NCC, LAC
Jennifer C. McCarron has been offering psychological counseling services since 2013. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in 1998, she went on to earn her Master’s Degree of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University in 2015. Through earning both of these degrees, she has been recognized for her high honors and academic excellence.
As a NJ State Certified Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), a NJ State Certified Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC), a NJ State Certified School counselor, and credentialed as a National Certified Counselor, Jennifer offers a truly personalized form of counseling. She adheres to the philosophy that there is no “one size fits all” form of therapy and believes that counseling is a collaborative working relationship between therapist and patient. As a major proponent of the mind-body connection, Jennifer offers patients an eclectic approach to therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Principals, and Solution-Focused and Narrative practices.
Prior to joining the Atlantic Medicine & Wellness family, Jennifer has worked as a counselor at the New Jersey Center for the Healing Arts, focusing on biopsychosocial and risk assessment, as well as providing individualized psychotherapy for both adolescents and adults. Additionally, she spent two years interning for Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School, where she worked with students both individually and in group settings. During her time in these roles, she has addressed issues related to depression, anxiety, chronic illness, eating disorders, grief and loss, personal empowerment, drug and alcohol use, and self-esteem.
Currently, Jennifer resides in Red Bank, NJ with her husband, Mike, and their dog, Maggie. Outside of counseling, she enjoys spending her time relaxing on the beach and spending quality time with her friends and family.
Noel Latore, RN, APNC
Noel Latore is a Nurse Practitioner with 20 years’ experience in women’s health. She has found success counseling women on the importance of diet and lifestyle as a way to gain optimal wellness and to improve basic and more complicated gynecological issues. She continues to update her knowledge by attending conferences and doing research in the areas of nutrition, functional medicine and women’s health.
Noel earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College of Nursing in 1996 with summa cum laude distinction. She began her career as an RN in Medical Surgical nursing and then transitioned to working in Labor and Delivery at Saint Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick NJ. In 1999, she completed a Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Pennsylvania with a specialty in Perinatology. Noel worked at various hospitals in Manhattan including Lenox Hill Hospital, NYU Medical Center and St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, where she worked in labor and delivery, and helped run a high-risk obstetrical clinic and an antenatal testing center. Noel returned to New Jersey and Saint Peters University Hospital where she worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Women’s and Children’s division of the Hospital. She then transitioned to direct patient care as a Nurse Practitioner in the Women’s Ambulatory Clinic, High-Risk Obstetrical clinic and Maternal Fetal Medicine. In 2008, Noel joined A Woman’s Place, a private practice in Monmouth county caring for women in all aspects of women’s health. She continued learning about women’s health and began a journey into the area of functional medicine.
In her free time, Noel enjoys challenging herself athletically (she completed a marathon and two half Ironman triathlons), and loves watching her two sons compete in various sports. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, yoga, and taking her dog for hikes in the woods.
Patti Cohen, JD, MLS
Patti Cohen is a former business attorney, marketing executive and business development executive with several major fashion companies. Patti is the Chief Operating Officer at Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, and brings her years of experience and skills in law, strategic planning, marketing and business development and administration to the world of medicine.
Patti was born and raised in New York City, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, received her Masters of Library and Information Science from Columbia University School of Library Science, and her Law Degree from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, NY. Patti was admitted to practice law in both New York and Connecticut, but has since retired from the practice of law in both states.
Prior to joining Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, Patti was SVP — Marketing and Community Affairs at Two Ten Footwear Foundation; SVP – Marketing & Corporate Affairs at Nina Footwear Corp; SVP – Corporate Affairs at Aerogroup International (“Aerosoles”); VP & General Counsel at Kenneth Cole Productions; VP & Associate General Counsel at Nine West Footwear Corp. and Counsel at F.W. Woolworth Co. (now Foot Locker, Inc.). Patti lives in beautiful Manasquan, and is an avid fitness and nutrition enthusiast as well as a certified Zumba and Zumba Gold instructor.
