Vladimir Berkovich, MD

Dr. Vladimir Berkovich has been practicing medicine since 1998. He is licensed in the State of New Jersey and New York. Dr. Berkovich is also received his certification as a Nutrition Specialist from the American College of Nutrition in 2002 and a Board certification in Family Medicine 1998. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Berkovich is also a decorated Colonel in the US Army Reserves, having served his country on active duty In Iraq and Afghanistan as well as other tours of duty, including his most recent tour as Deputy Commander of Clinical Services of Combat Support Hospital in 2013.

Dr. Berkovich grew up in Moscow, Russia where he was educated as a musician. In 1981, he emigrated to the US. Vladimir Berkovich completed his undergraduate studies at State University of New York at Stony Brook. He received his Doctoral degrees from Ross University School of Medicine with honors and New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Berkovich completed his residency in Family Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Prior to joining Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, Dr. Berkovich was a principal at the Center for Aesthetic and Integrative Medicine in Manasquan, NJ. Dr. Berkovich is an ardent advocate of the integrated approach to health. His eclectic method of treatment is sought after by his loyal patients. He lives in Ocean County, NJ with his wife and is the proud father of two sons. His hobby is exploring nature.

Martin E. Manzo, DC, CCSP

Dr. Martin E. Manzo has been practicing chiropractic on the Jersey shore since 1987. He is trained in Active Release Techniques®, Injury Prevention (including Back Safe® & Sitting Safe®), as well as Manipulation Under Anesthesia. Having successfully been accredited in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Dr. Manzo is now licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey. Dr. Manzo also has surgical center credentialing and was Team Chiropractor for the Monmouth University Hockey Team from 1997-2000. He has continued his education by attending and successfully passing the examination as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). Dr. Manzo is a founding member of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors, which successfully united seven distinct chiropractic groups and has become a major leader in setting chiropractic policy for the state.

Dr. Manzo grew up right here in Point Pleasant Beach, attended Bloomfield College and graduated from New York Chiropractic College. Prior to being one of the owners of Atlantic Medicine & Wellness, as well as its CEO, Dr. Manzo owned Premier Care Center, LLC in Manasquan, NJ and practiced in Brick and Manasquan. He is deeply invested in his patients care and well-being, and has realized his vision of being part of a multi-disciplinary practice with skilled and trusted colleagues, all with a singular passion for their patient’s optimal health. Outside of AMW, he is profoundly committed to his community, a passion he shares with his wonderful extended family and friends.

Shannon Rittberg, DO

A native of Manalapan, NJ and with over 15 years of experience in family medicine, Dr. Shannon Rittberg has unsurprisingly gained a loyal following of patients seeking her expert care and treatment. Licensed in the state of New Jersey and board certified to practice family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine, she has a highly energetic approach to health and wellness, resulting in unbeatable patient care.

After earning her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University with cum laude distinction, Dr. Rittberg attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. During her residency through UMDNJ, she served as Assistant Chief Resident at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. Dr. Rittberg has since been practicing and serving the Jersey Shore community, leading her to Atlantic Medicine & Wellness.

Throughout her time in the medical profession, Dr. Rittberg has earned a number of honors and awards, including the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation and the Achievement in Primary Care Award. She has also been active in her local community, serving as an elementary school physician, taking on a mentorship role at the National Youth Leadership Forum, and acting as the team physician for the Camden Riversharks. She currently resides in Freehold Township with her husband and two daughters. When she isn’t offering patients the best in family medicine, you can find her breaking a sweat at Orange Theory Fitness or watching her daughters at dance competitions and soccer tournaments!

Tracey E. Capell, MS, CNS

Tracey Capell is a board certified clinical nutritionist offering clinical support to both children and adults. Tracey earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Communications from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. She is a Certified Nutrition Specialist through the American College of Nutrition and has been in private practice since 2001, working alongside physicians and therapists in a complementary manner to help her patients achieve optimal health. She is also a member of the American College of Nutrition and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Tracey uses diagnostic testing as part of her investigative program to design personalized programs for her patients, identifying and correcting underlying imbalances. Through her understanding of biochemistry and the latest research in nutritional therapies, Tracey offers her patients effective, natural treatment options, like lifestyle modifications, dietary recommendations and nutritional support, customized for each individual. The Healthy Weigh is a program developed by Tracey specifically for weight loss and diabetes management. This program employs the most advanced scientific principles of human metabolism and is designed to be a permanent way of life for long term success.

Tracey resides in Freehold Township where she enjoys growing her own vegetables and flowers. She keeps very busy traveling to medical conference around the country and researching the most effective alternative treatment options for a multitude of conditions.

Perry Herman, MD

Perry Herman, MD, FPMR, is a board-certified physiatrist specializing in nonsurgical treatment of neck and back pain, musculoskeletal and sports injuries. He offers a holistic approach to the treatment of acute and chronic pain by taking a body and mind approach to restoring wellness. In additional to utilizing traditional scientifically-proven pain methodologies, he also incorporates a ‘whole person’ strategy to overcoming pain as a result of injury, disease or dietary sensitivities.

Dr. Herman attended medical school at Ohio State University and completed his internship and residency training at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He earned a B.S. degree in chemistry at Indiana University.

Dr. Herman joins Atlantic Medicine & Wellness and has private practice in Monroe Township that opened in 2003. Dr. Herman also served as Medical Director of the Milford Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center, Milford, DE (2000-2003) and the Subacute Rehabilitation Program at Merwick Hospital, Princeton, NJ (2004-2005).

Dr. Herman ‘practices what he preaches’ with a whole body approach to wellness by subscribing to a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise, meditation, and diet. He and his wife, a speech therapist, have three children. The doctor enjoys running and biking and is currently training for his first half-marathon.

Michelle Cowan, APN

Michelle is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse clinical background in emergency medicine, adult general medicine, and maternal-child health services.

Michelle has a Bachelor’s of Science in both Nursing and Nutrition, and was a dietician for the New Jersey State Department of Health before pursuing a career in nursing, where she has worked in inpatient care for nine years. She obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing from Monmouth University and completed clinical rotations in primary care, urgent care, pediatrics and fertility medicine. Michelle has a passion for understanding the root cause of disease and a drive for continued education and is currently studying Functional Medicine in order to provide the best, most comprehensive care for her patients.

Michelle grew up in Ocean County and is still local as a Monmouth County resident.  In her spare time, Michelle enjoys keeping active in her CrossFit community and hiking and traveling with her husband, two children, and dog.

Dr. Bryan Nadrowski, DPT

Dr. Bryan Nadrowski is a board certified physical therapist with special interest in orthopedics and sports medicine. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree at Clemson University in 2013 and his Doctorate degree at Franklin Pierce University in 2017. Along with outpatient orthopedics, Bryan has experience working in acute hospital settings in Texas, California, and New Jersey on post-operative orthopedic, ICU, cardiac, and neurological floors. By focusing on an individualized treatment approach and building rapport with his patients, Bryan creates a collaborative treatment program that optimizes each patient’s functional mobility while reducing pain in their pathology. He relies on his various experience in acute, subacute, and outpatient rehab in order to get a firm understanding on a patient’s recovery timeline from day 1 post-operative through the completion of outpatient therapy.

Bryan is a lifelong local product from Spring Lake Heights, who currently resides in Point Pleasant. He played lacrosse and football at Manasquan High School, where he sustained some injuries of his own, which further interested him in the field of Physical Therapy.  When he is not seen working, you can find him enjoying time with family and friends, at the beach, or traveling. He also enjoys all live music and sporting events, particularly a die-hard New York Rangers, Jets and Clemson Tiger fan.

Sarah Peace, LAC

Sarah Peace graduated from Georgian Court University with her B.A. in psychology in May of 2013. During her undergrad years she interned at Toms River Youth Services, which is an after school program for children and adolescents ages 7-13. While at Toms River Youth Services, she worked closely with the owner and assisted in doing intakes.  As time went by she learned how to use games and books to connect with kids and teach them lessons in areas such as how to deal with emotions, bullying, and making friendships with others. She even assisted parents in making behavior charts for their children, teaching children how to work towards a common goal. Sarah continued her studies at Georgian Court and graduated Cum Laude with her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health. During her Master’s program, Sarah interned with Preferred Behavioral Health in an IOP program for adolescents who suffer with addictions and mental health illnesses.

Sarah has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in both an individual and group setting. Sarah created a Mindful Mama’s group to help mom’s find their identity outside of being a mom and has built a social skills curriculum to help youth build on life skills needed. Sarah utilizes a client-centered approach to counseling, while developing and building upon a client’s strengths. She realizes that each client is unique and tailors treatment to fit the individual. Sarah is additionally trained in Reality Therapy from Georgian Court University. This approach helps motivate clients in identifying what actions they need to take to meet their goals. Additionally, she has experience working with ADHD, Anxiety, Attachment-based issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar, Conduct Disorder, Depression, Grief-related issues, LGBTQ youth, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Self-esteem issues, Self-injurious behaviors, and Substance use.
