The treatment uses minimally-invasive procedures such as facet joint injections, nerve block injections and epidurals, with success for many of our patients for the treatment from the debilitating effects of chronic and acute pain.
Facet Joint Injections
Facet injections are injections of medications into the actual facet joints. Facet joints are located between each set of vertebrae in the spine from the neck to the sacrum. Facet joints allow each vertebra to move against the vertebra just above and just below it.
Nerve Block Injections
Often a group of nerves causes pain to a specific organ or body region that can be blocked with the injection of medication into a specific area of the body. The injection of this nerve numbing medication is called a nerve block.
Epidurals
Epidural steroid injection (ESI) is a technique for relieving pain from spinal stenosis and spinal disc herniation. Using an image guided needle, corticosteroids and a local anesthetic are injected into the epidural space around the spinal cord and spinal nerves.
